Exterior applications
For nearly all architectural elements
Exterior is intended for architectural surfaces exposed to weather, from broad siding planes to trim and detailed millwork.
Siding and walls: durable acrylic coverage across properly prepared exterior surfaces.
Trim and details: use Satin or Semi Gloss where a more defined finish is desired.
Porches and covered spaces: maintain a consistent exterior coating system where exposure still matters.
Metal: raw metal surfaces should be primed appropriately prior to application of Exterior paint
Performance
Built for exposure without color fading
Exterior performance starts with the substrate. Clean, dry, sound preparation is as important as the coating itself, particularly on older siding, repaired areas and previously failing paint.
01 · AdhesionPrepared architectural surfaces
Designed to adhere across a wide range of properly prepared exterior substrates.
02 · ExposureMoisture and weather resistance
An exterior acrylic film intended for surfaces exposed to changing weather conditions.
03 · ColorRichly pigmented exterior finishes
Use the same broader Paint Laboratory palette while specifying the correct exterior base.
Available in any color
Exterior is available in General, Whites & Blacks and Vivids, as well as custom matched colors.
General Collection
More than 400 coordinated architectural colors.
Whites & Blacks
From nuanced whites through deep blacks for siding, trim and contrast.
Vivids
Our most saturated colors for stronger exterior accents.
Custom color
Coordinate with masonry, roofing, wood, existing paint and other project materials.
Sample in daylight
Exterior color should be reviewed on site
A color that works indoors can shift dramatically outside. Review physical samples vertically and beside the permanent materials surrounding the painted surface.

Project support
Exterior specifications begin with the surface
For larger exterior projects, older buildings, unusual substrates or mixed coating schedules, send us the existing condition, surfaces, quantities and intended colors before ordering.
Exterior Paint may require specific preperation and consideration depending on the underlying substrate. For raw metal surfaces we recommend DTM Primer.

My name is Larry Lee Palmer and I own Dan Palmer, painting and restoration. I’ve been in business more than 45 years and I’ve seen every type of paint that you can imagine. I would have to say that the Paint lab has done a phenomenal job not Justin helping me design this project but the paint substrates that were used and there were many because this is a $1 million job, We’re phenomenal, each in their own right. Whether it was the incredible semi gloss enamel used on this 3 1/2 story 12,500 ft.² icon in Seattle, or the perfect Matt finish for a 130 year-old siding application the choices were spot on in each instance I would defy anybody to try duplicating the quality of this paint. Never in my life that I paid more than $100 a gallon for a project of this size but I have to say after everything is complete that it was the right choice and the only choice sincere thanks from me to the paint lab crew cheers Larry Palmer
John was very helpful, bringing a nice balance of listening to our concepts and ideas and also stepping in with his own authority and perspective, which is what we were looking for, after all. Looking forward to more collaboration in the future.
