Suede Paint
A soft, dead flat finish with subtle texture
Suede Paint is a dead flat wall paint made to produce the soft, velvety appearance of suede leather.
Its slight texture absorbs light and gives the finished surface depth without conventional paint sheen. The directional brushwork remains visible and becomes part of the finish.

The finish
Texture changes the way the wall responds to light
The slight texture of Suede helps absorb light rather than reflecting it from a smooth painted surface.
Brush movement creates subtle directional variation across the wall. The effect becomes more or less visible as the light changes through the room.
Suede works particularly well where a dead flat appearance is wanted without making the surface feel visually plain.

Application
Roll, then back brush while wet
The brushwork is intentional. Suede is normally built in two directional coats, with the wet material back brushed to develop the soft, varied surface.

Prepare the wall
Begin with a clean, dry and sound surface. Repair defects, degloss existing coatings and prime where required.

Roll on the material
Use the roller to place Suede evenly across a manageable area of the wall while maintaining a wet edge.

Back brush while wet
Work the wet coating with a brush in a controlled crosshatch pattern. The visible brush movement creates the characteristic Suede texture.

Build the finish
Apply two or more brushed coats for the intended effect. Maintain the same technique across the wall so the movement remains consistent.
Interior walls
Dead flat without looking flat
Suede has been used in residential and commercial interiors where very little sheen is wanted but a completely uniform wall would feel too plain.
The texture is restrained rather than heavy. From a distance the wall reads as a soft dead flat surface; closer inspection reveals the directional brushwork.

We strongly recommend sampling before purchasing large quantities. The directional texture and dead flat surface are difficult to judge accurately from a screen.

Test Pot
8 fluid ounces of Suede Paint for testing color, application and technique on the intended surface.
Chips are not available in Suede because a small conventional paint chip cannot adequately represent the brushed texture.

Beautiful results honestly the video doest do justice. I did Bone white and umber 2 together. One paint pan poured both colors beside each other dipped a large brush covering one side of the brush with one color the other side the second color and did the X pattern and wallah. Did this technique on a wall that had bad painting from previous owner.

The process was very straight forward. Lots of color choices. The suede paint is just like the Ralph Lauren paint that I used many years ago. The ordering was simple and delivery was quick.
